Brotherton est un village et une paroisse civile du Yorkshire du Nord, en Angleterre. Il se situe dans le sud du comté, à une vingtaine de kilomètres au sud-est du centre-ville de Leeds. La rivière Aire, qui délimite le Yorkshire du Nord du Yorkshire de l'Ouest, coule juste à l'ouest du village.
Toponymie
Brotherton est attesté sous la forme Brothertun vers 1030. Ce toponyme fait référence à une ferme (tūn en vieil anglais) appartenant à un frère (broþor) ou à un homme portant le nom norrois Bróthir[1].

L'église paroissiale de Brotherton est dédiée à saint Édouard. Construite dans le style néogothique en 1842, elle constitue un monument classé de grade II depuis 1967[4].
